Size is a maximum, not an exact file size. Dimensions may be reduced to meet your limit. JPG uses a white background.

How to reduce image size

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device.
  2. Set a maximum in KB or MB. Pick a format and optional dimensions.
  3. Process the image, check the output size and download.

We use decimal file sizes: 1 KB = 1,000 bytes and 1 MB = 1,000 KB. For example, 2 MB is 2,000 KB, so 3,000 KB is a larger limit.

Questions about image resizing

How do I compress a 2 MB image to 300 KB?

Choose your image, enter 300 and select KB, then process it. The tool adjusts quality and, if needed, reduces dimensions to stay within 300,000 bytes. Check small text before using the result.

Will my image be exactly the size I enter?

No. The value is a maximum size. A 300 KB target produces a file at or below 300 KB. The tool does not add empty data to inflate files.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Image decoding and processing happen in this browser. The tool does not send your selected images to a server. The hosting provider still receives normal page requests.

Can I use this without an account?

Yes. There is no account, payment, watermark or daily processing quota. Each input must be 50 MB or smaller and no more than 64 megapixels. Your device may impose lower practical limits.

Can I keep the exact width and height?

Choose Resize dimensions only to keep the selected dimensions without enforcing a file-size cap. Compression mode may reduce dimensions further. Proportions stay locked; the tool does not crop.

Does it support animated images or HEIC?

This version supports JPG, PNG and WebP. Animated PNG and WebP inputs are exported as a still image. GIF, HEIC, PDF and SVG are not supported.
